Maria N. Lukens

Maria focuses her practice on title litigation, civil litigation, and guardianship matters, providing clients with clear guidance through some of the most challenging times clients may face. She is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, strategic representation and takes pride in ensuring that every client feels informed, supported, and empowered throughout the legal process.

Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before pursuing law school, she spent two years working as a family law paralegal. In that fast-paced environment, she gained valuable insight into how legal disputes affect individuals and families, shaping her empathetic, client-centered approach.

Maria went on to attend the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she was a peer mentor, worked in the Gender, Prison and Trauma Clinic, and competed on the National Trial Team. While competing on the National Trial Team, Maria discovered a deep interest in providing thoughtful and zealous advocacy for clients. Her coursework and experiences —combined with her family law background—further fueled her enthusiasm for litigation.

As an attorney, Maria brings a strong sense of empathy and understanding to her work. Recognizing that the court process can be daunting, she strives to make each client feel heard and informed, explaining their options clearly and helping them make confident decisions.
